I wouldn't think "alternative gay people" would be inclined to spend money on status underwear. I never understood the need to say "I can afford to spend lots of money to impress you with the fact that I can afford to spend lots of money". (and basically for a product that is probably no better than something else.)

I had a friend that found a brand with nothing on the waistband. With a Sharpie, he created his own label with HIS name on the band.
