I thought it was pretty funny... The Uber-butch lesbian friend of theirs was a little annoying to me though. It's pretty much a waaaay over the top gay version of American Pie... which worked well.

if you have a good sense of humor, then this movie is cool to watch at least once.

Hopefully we can all laugh at ourselves on a regular basis. "Another Gay Movie" was just that opportunity. Some of our overly PC brothers and sisters will jump on stereotypes in a heartbeat, but I thought this was OUR "American Pie", (Or "Porkies" for some of us older folk) the one we didn't get. Straight people get to laugh at themselves all the time without much of a big to do over it. Here's our chance. I was howling with laughter more than I had expected to.

That movie is the fucking best gay movie I've ever seen. Not that there's much competition. Gay cinema is mostly a sad and sorry sight.

            www.imdb.com/title/tt0443431/

My roommate sent me an e-male (even though my room is 10 feet away from his lol) and the subject line said "Woo - look what we're getting!" and this link was attached. He is always buying me things. I told him about you guys talking about this movie and he said he had heard that it wasnt good. I told him everyone on tribe was saying how much they liked it and that it's supposed to be funny. He is a total movie freak and owns like 700 dvds or something crazy. Now I have about 400. He must have bough me like 50 of them. I can't wait to get this on in the mail. Guess I can take it off my Netflix cue now. : ) Yee haw!!!

I am typically pretty sensitive towards stereotypical portrayals of "the gay" in pop culture... but this movie was hilarious. Making fun of the "another teen movie" franchise, completely blowing the top off of it. I also enjoyed the merciless stabs at gay culture stereotypes. SO off the wall you can't dream of taking it seriously. I loved the bear going "woof" on the bed. Hahahahaha.

      I liked the movie too.
Another hilarious one is "queer duck - the movie".
Every bit of dialogue was hilarious.

"Another hilarious one is "queer duck - the movie". "

A bit of Queer Duck trivia- it was created by and written by Mike Reiss, who was a long-time executive producer on the Simpsons and wrote "Clown Without Pity" from Treehouse or Horror 3, which is one of my favourites.

i think this movie is done a disservice by being characterized as a spoof or making fun of "not another teen movie". i think that it is way better than that. i think that it is just using the format of "not another teen movie" to create a witty and intelligent satire of gay culture in a way that "not another teen movie" does not even begin to do for straight culture. behind the comedy and the dirty jokes there was a very aware and insightful sensibility in this movie that went so far beyond the normal hollywood bs. not only that but it was visually beautiful in the colors etc. it reminded me of but i'm a cheerleader and both those movies remind me of the perverse brilliance of john waters. particularly in the use of color.

It was ok. It had some pretty funny bits that I enjoyed. My only objection to the production is the ongoing portrayal of gays being stereotypically vacuous and one dimensional. Even the persons they had cast as the smart guy and the jock were still pretty damned shallow and faggy. Didn't queer as folk do enough damage already?

I try my best to avoid being too serious in the expectation that every piece of media must represent the gay community with dignity and realism - after all this was a comedy - because that kind of attitude is just boring and tedious. But come on, even the Legally Blond series had the cajones to make fun of itself with an underlying moral message that people that fit the stereotype shouldn't be underestimated. I'll just chalk this one up to an ineffective screenwriter and a director with a low budget and hope for the best with the next round.

A perfectly delivered parody...you can dig through all the sly references to other pop culture items and never reach the bottom. It goes way beyond just parodying "Not Another Teen Movie" and "American Pie"...it even goes so far as to parody the director's previous film "Edge of Seventeen"...the scene where the mom is playing the piano "What's going on?" fucking brilliant.

I also loved the scene where he pukes on the guy who asks him to bareback him... it even teaches a lesson!

a straight guy friend showed up as we were watching it. He is pretty open minded, but it was great watching him squirm! lol

I fucking loved it. It was low brow, over the top and definately stereotypical. It def isn't a film intended to be taken seriously.

Plus it reminded me of the joys of being a fag. We can get away with just about anything can't we?
