We saw a preview this fall at Short Mountain as a fund raiser for RFD.

I think is will become one of those cult films, It reminds me of Rocky Horror, when I was coming up, that movie was mind blowing back in the day. I can imagine today being a queer youth, and having my whole paradigm shifting after seeing Short Bus.

They spent years on it, that's why the characters are so believable. But maybe they spent so much time on the film just to rehearse the sex scenes, they were pretty good too, and the movie would have sucked if the sex didn't work.

I still haven't processed the metaphors, but I had dreams about the movie after I saw it.

Don't read this next comment if you haven't seen the movie, but I don't think it would ruin it for you any way. Go see the movie.



The only thing I didn't like was the ending. Don't get me wrong -I love that movie.

but It was tied up in a bow. The voyeur and the Boy-Toy getting together? Huh? It doesn't matter, really, because did those characters every know each other. It would make more sense to me if they were the only ones feuding at the end -you know, the last scene at Short Bus the camera pans to them and they're pouting and sitting back to back. It seemed gratuitous to have them 'find' each other. If that was the case then why didn't we see the garbage men getting together, and the dude at the porn shop and the waitress, and everyone else that happend to walk by in the background and a long pan over the city, to the park and the squirrels are mating and the birds are chasing each others tails. . .

Great movie! I thought going into it that I was going to hate it, but just the opposite. I downloaded it via BitTorrent, but then went and bought a copy.

oh my god, incredible incredible film. i was speechless, and then went right back the very next day to see it again.

I just rented this on NetFlix and had heard a lot about it. It was shocking and fabulous. I thought it was a great commentary on the cultural flattening of NYC...If this is NYC I want to go back. It was hilarious the way a lot of the characters were so concerned about how they were going to run out of money...were some of those kids on trust funds (I hope so).

yes.....loved it!!! Love Jay Brannan's music - check his site and myspace. Loved the music....Justin Bond's "We all get it in the end" was great.

I had read about it in reviews and finally located a copy. Watched it twice so far and was reminded of Bent and Cabaret. We seem to be in a time bubble but I have definite concerns about reactionary amerikan taliban poised to strike. So let's enjoy while it lasts.

yes, absolutely gorgeous, true to my experience movie that hit a bit close to home in parts. ten minutes after I stopped crying, I was on the internet ordering a copy.

I love this movie! But that's only relevent if you understand that I am going through what I call a quarter-live crisis. The actors and even the charecters seemed like they belonged to something bigger than themselves which is something I really held onto. Even if you go past the film and all of the metaphors they try to make you understand that everyone involved feels like they are connected to something. Which is something I am longing for. So I really conncected to the sense of belonging in the movie which is what I see is the connecting thread thoughout all the charecters in the movie. I mean, if they didn't want to belong to something the wouldn't show up to "short bus" in the first place, everyone was looking to belong and they found it at the club. I really connected with that which is why this is one of my favorite movies.
