Otters. Wolves. Bears. Chicken. Bara.
I like armpits, intense body hair, perhaps a bit of filth.
I like violent wrestling type foreplay.
Comic book and video game characters turn me on. More like Solid Snake than Lara Croft.
And up to the elbow means very carefully.
Coprophilia is best done with saran wrap.
Porn stars actually are celebrities, and show up in our magazines.
If I haven't tried it, I'm probably dead because of it.
And a lot of guys neither pitch nor catch exclusively. They switch each inning.
Boobs don't really mean much to us unless they are tight and ripped. (Exception for chubby chasers)
Speaking of which, chubby chasing is not as ugly in our department, thankfully.
Well, that's some of the secrets.

All of these secrets! JEEZE! I came out of the closet so I wouldn't be crowded by so many of them. As a gay man (or homo or queer or what ever...) my biggest secret is that.... okay...it's time to admit it: I'm a slob. I didn't get the anal retentive part of the gay gene. I also don't particularly like show tunes and Patsy Cline. Okay. I've said it out loud. I can't dance, I can't gossip to save my life and, oh god.... I've never seen an entire episode of "Sex and the City."

I'm so ashamed.

Okay. Not ashamed.
Oddly proud.

The most abhorred secret in the gay male community and in many at-risk straight communities now is not what you do and with whom (excluding pedophilia or rape). It is still about HIV status and the importance of preventing its spread. I have been involved in many discussions about non-traditional sexual acts with various people and they don't blink an eye. However, if you are an HIV+ individual talking about wanting to have simple safe sex, people suddenly get all uncomfortable with the discussion, even when they have initiated it by cruising you, unless they too are HIV+ and know it. Luckily, I have a partner now and don't have to deal with the double-standard, but it is a problem and is reflected in the (underreported) increasing HIV rates.

HAHAHAH I know what you mean. I think that piss play is hot. bottom and top are BDSM terms that the queer community took as our own and most vanilla people can't wrap around their minds what two, three or more consenting adults can do with each other for enjoyment.

My friends have no real idea what whores my boyfriend and I are... to hear them talk about the dirty things they do makes me giggle inside. I don't even really think my gay friends know what I am really capable of. Only the rare trick who seems to be up for everything and whom I will never see again can really experience what really gets me off. I hear the straight boys talk about their bitches and how they pounded the tang, all proud like, and all I can think about is being in a dark hall surrounded by cocks trying to figure out by taste and feel which one of the seven belongs to my boyfriend (if he is even still there). I keep that to myself and seriously thats still g rated in comparison to my favorite things... but if I went into that they wouldn't be secrets anymore...

Skooter-First off I never wrote that ALL hets are into kink/BDSM by default.

I just wrote the thing about hets being 1,000% vanilla and monogamous because it is true that while many queers think that about hets, many hets think that us queers aren't in monogamous/closed relationships (or can't even have them at all) and that kink/BDSM is something that everyone that's queer does when they have sex.

I just said that the majority of hets that I know who are into kink don't get into the aspects of a fake BDSM/leather "community", care about such things which is the way it should be.

I'm personally into kink/BDSM/leather but I could care less about the fake leather "community" or things like fashion shows at IML/MAL or pointless political confrences like leather leadership.

MadJack and Madoc-yeah I hear what you guys wrote about rimming and how it doesn't really get talked about.

I know hets that are into rimming and do it (quite frequently too!); but I remember telling some my male friends/peers (ok the one guy is a closeted bi guy but only he and I know this) about how I asked my doctor questions about rimming (just questions on how safe it is, etc.), and one friend (mr. locked closet) asked "Why the fuck would you ask your doctor something like that?!?!", and another het male friend just said how rimming is a major kink and I know this other het guy who will say things like "man there's nothing finer than eating a hot woman's ass!" and I know that he's into it.

I do know lots of bi/gay men who personally find rimming (even getting rimmed) to be disgusting, highly unsafe as far as sex acts go, and who simply don't do it at all.

It's all a personal choice though. I know people who are into being rimmed but they're not into rimming someone else at all, some who are into kissing after rimming, and some who find kissing/making out afterwards to be nasty, and some who only kiss/make out after they've used mouthwash and washed their face with soap and water.

Het men wouldn't want to pay $45 for a bi/gay male pornstar's jockstrap, or want it at all; but I'm sure they've paid that or more for female pornstar's panties that they've worn.

Well it's quite an exaggeration to suggest my comment says anything close to "act like mostly all hets are 1,000% vanilla." All my comment did was counter your absolute statements that most heterosexuals practice kink and it's a mainstream practice. Unless of course you have some wonderfully new med/psyche studies that show otherwise, they don't and they aren't.

For that matter I think it's pretty amusing when folks assume that because they're into an alternative lifestyle, everyone else is too - just like gay people assume/wish everyone else is gay. Both viewpoints are ridiculously predictable, and wrong.

Skooter-Yeah but who is to assume that most hets are really bullshitting about doing BDSM/kink?

Heterosexuals who are into BDSM/kink really are out there and in great numbers since the majority of the human population is heterosexual/het identified, and most sites like bondage.com and other one like Alt.com are full of mainly heterosexual members/visitors.

I've noticed that hets are kinky but they're not necessarily into all of the labels about BDSM like a Master, Sir, Mistress, boy, girl, Dom, sub, or Mistress.

My het male friends are into kink but they either don't consider a spanking to be kinky or they know that it is but don't get into the idea of sex being vanilla/not kinky. Even my hetero male friends who do like some SM (i.e. paddling/spanking with role play) know all about Master/slave relationships even if they don't ever want a relationship like that.

Let's face it how many times have you heard about hets doing role play like the "bad" student that needs an OTK (over the knee) spanking/paddling with tears, or any of the other common role play things that people of all orientations do as scenes.

I agree with David in that I think it's funny how gay men act like mostly all hets are 1,000% vanilla in their sex lives/sex practises, and are/stay in closed/monogamous relationships when it's anything but that.

Why do you think anything gay men do would "freak straight people out"? Don't you think they have kinks? I know a lot of straight people and have seen and heard a lot of kinks. How about a common straight thing of a guy WANTING some unknown guy to fuck his girlfriend? Or the guys who want their girlfriends to make humiliating comments about their cock size? I could go on and on, but that's enough for now.

Ummmm....I would say the subject is more mainstream, in that generally people are less inhibited in observing, considering or discussing the topic, but it's still far from the mainstream with regard to practice or chosen lifestyle. To most people it's a practice they've only just briefly flirted with or have only experienced vicariously through the media - the latter being the largest majority.

If you're going by what people discuss, consider that most of what they say they've done or tried is only just that, talk (read: bullshit) just to seem cool and more experienced or adventurous than they actually are.

>>>>Dave,

Are we talking about the overall het world or only about the kink / fetish part of the het world? The kinky het folk are in an extreme minority when compared to the rest of the het world. At least the ones who are more active than the married het couples who get all turned on by a "slap and a tickle" session once a year or so.

For those kinky het folk, they've as much difficulty and as much warm reception in trying to explain their kink to vanilla het folk as gays do trying to explain the limits of their sexuality to "normal" het folk.

While tolerance has greatly increased for a lot of things, and while at least awareness of the kink world has also increased in the mainstream het / vanilla world (thank you Madonna!) there's still a pretty vast gulf therein. And it's neither ignorant nor heterophobic to point this out.

Madoc<<<<

I meant among heterosexual people in general since we all live in the same world and we're all human.

I don't see there being a heterosexual "world" just like I don't see there being a real gay "world" or even a true gay "culture" or gay "community" at all. What gets mistaken as being a gay/GLBT "culture" or "community" is really just mass consumerism and conformity by gay/GLBT/queer people. I also wouldn't consider gay ghettos like the castro or other gay neighborhoods/areas in cities to be a gay "community" either because they're such a mixed crowd nowadays and all types of people of all orientations work/live/hang out there.

Back on topic though, BDSM is REALLY mainstream nowadays among hets to the point that it's almost a cliche though.

I have het friends who aren't even into BDSM at all talk about Master/slave references or bondage or things like that and it's certainly not a taboo subject among young people who are say 35 or younger.

Then there are hets who are into BDSM but don't call it that and just enjoy spanking or bondage.

Madonna may have done something but not much and I think overall there are tons of references to BDSM in mainstream pop culture.

Even family guy made fun of it in the heh "the safeword is Banana" episode, there was a male character in the Sopranos who liked to top from the bottom and sniffed poppers while Tony Sopranos' sister fucked him with a vibrator and called him a whore and said how she was going to pimp him out, there was the crazy fucked up rape/BDSM scene in Pulp Fiction, and in the show Desperate Housewives one guy cheats on his wife by going to a Dominatrix and paying for sex from her.

Maybe it's just different to me because I've always grown up knowing about it?

Even as a kid I remember watching TV movies where someone would get tied up in bed or there was one where this guy had a sex dream about a woman whipping him and then he woke up.

>>>>Yeah, a few. I guess. As hackneyed as the phrase has become I guess it does apply: "It's a gay thing. You just wouldn't understand." And that covers stuff like rimming - as close to cunnilingus as gay men are likely to ever get.

It also covers sex clubs. I mean, have you ever tried to explain "Blow Buddies" to a straight guy? Or your average bathhouse either?

Nah, that stuff doesn't get talked about "out of school."

Madoc <<<<

That's a rather ignorant and heterophobic assumption.

Heterosexuals are into W/S or piss, and yes there are bath houses and sex clubs for heterosexuals and men and women.

Also rimming isn't only something that all bi/gay men are into and it's not something that's only "gay" sex since heterosexuals and people of all orientations love to eat ass!

You're bisexual and into kink/BDSM so you should know this!

I have this straight friend. He lives with his girlfriend. He is freaking out because she is not the sex bomb she once was, and he views masturbation an unsatisfying, mundane chore that he has to do since he is not getting it from the g/f.

I, on the other hand, find it to be a marvelous exercise in exploring consciousness, and cannot fathom anyone being unable to give the most simple pleasure to themselves.

From what I have gathered, that may be the case a lot more than I could have imagined.

On the complete other hand, I am also unwilling to partake in the opposite, which would be to have sex with every man walking down the street. I see people all around me doing this, and find it hard to comprehend how it is that they get their emotional needs met. Or, is it as I suspect, that they don't

Hmm.

LOVE TO ALL

i do admire the sexual frankness - and the maturity and security that enables that type of conversation - that the gay community possesses. what would make most straight suburban folks blanche with distress and bewilderment is happy hour talk (or "how i spent my weekend") in the hood.

tho, on the flipside: i was in LA this past weekend, and at a mellow gathering, i was talking to a young woman, who out of the blue, started discussing vividly her time as a former dominatrix. without the slightest batting of an eye/hiccup in conversation. it was fantastic. (but then again, that's urban LA. and she was a total fag hag. ;-)

I have a friend from college who has actually been asked by co-workers if he is gay simply because he knows what simple terms like "bottom" or "top" mean. He finds it amusing to explain such things to his conservative banker co-workers just to see their reactions. I've known him for many years and even stood up in his wedding in 1993 and he is completely straight. But even though we are very good friends and he knows I'm gay, there are some topics we just don't discuss.

When I mean normal, I'm guessing the majority of gay men in this Tribe Know other gay who like arm pit hair and even themselves like to sniff and lick a pit once in awhile. Or Know of or ARE someone who would pay 45 bucks for a porn stars jock strap (Like me...hahah)... Or the fact that we go online and look at piss vids... It's somewhat more Normal amongst us... but even straight men don't discuss amongst themselves piss play.
